About the game

At first glance, you might immediately assume that PowerUp Roulette is simply a copy of Lightning Roulette. After all, Lightning Roulette was released earlier by Evolution Gaming and truthfully, the Swedish might be slightly better at marketing.

In all honestly, this game is indeed similar to Lightning Roulette in terms of progressive multipliers and the use of "PowerUP numbers" (known as "Lightning Numbers" when playing Lightning Roulette). However, the main difference is that players can access a total of five additional bonus rounds within PowerUp Roulette. If the ball lands on specific pre-selected numbers, a multiplier will be triggered. Here's a breakdown of the possible multipliers during each bonus round:

First round: between 50X and 500X

Second Round: 1,000X

Third round: 2,000X

Fourth Round: 4,000X

Fifth Round: A whopping 8,000X

Note that these are much higher when compared to the maximum multiplier of 2,000X provided by Lightning Roulette.

Each round begins with a total betting time of 20 seconds (when players will select numbers between 0 and 36). It's possible to manually select these numbers or to use a Race Track feature which can be found in the special Bets Menu. Between three and five power-up numbers will then be automatically chosen. Note that players are provided with a wide array of wagering options. These include straight-up bets, split bets, six-line bets, red/blacks, and odds/evens. We should point out that only straight bets can be used to qualify for PowerUP bonus rounds.

More about PowerUP Roulette

PowerUP Roulette offers a return-to-player (RTP) percentage of 97.30%. This RTP slightly falls to 97.19% when placing straight bets. These are considered average when compared to other types of single-zero European roulette games. It also seems as if PowerUp Roulette has capitalized upon the extremely popular Power-Up feature (hence the name) that was first introduced in Boom City Live; a nod to the fact that Pragmatic Play appreciates what keeps players coming back for more.

It's also no surprise that the user interface offered by PowerUp Roulette is intuitive and easy to control; yet another hallmark of Pragmatic Play games. In terms of the video interface itself, we like the fact that they've chosen to employ a dark green color scheme; slightly mirroring classic television programs such as Wheel of Fortune. Although the rounds are a bit longer than traditional roulette, this is due to the presence of PowerUP numbers and we feel that this adds to the overall sense of entertainment.
