Crypto.com is the Official Sponsor of the Qatar World Cup
Crypto shall feature heavily in this year’s world cup due to there being sponsorship from some of the crypto industry’s major players. Earlier in March, World Cup organizers unveiled Crypto.com as the official sponsor of the sporting event. The crypto firm is one of the fastest-growing trading platforms with over 10 million customers and 4000 staff members in America, Asia, and Europe. The FIFA and Crypto.com sponsorship will further increase awareness of the exchange with brand exposure at such a significant event that’s held every four years.
The Qatar World Cup expects a viewership of over 5 billion and 1 million active fans in the country once it kicks off, providing Crypto.com with exposure both inside and outside the stadiums. This amount of eyeballs on their brand and the crypto sector in general may drive crypto adoption from the mainstream.

Visa ‘Masters of Movement’ NFTs on Crypto.com for the Qatar World Cup
The World Leader in Digital Payments, Visa, has been the official payment partner of FIFA since 2007. Through the years, it has been updating various technologies and implementing them in its operations. It comes as no surprise that Visa is now supporting cryptocurrency technology. It recently unveiled the Visa ‘Masters of Movement’ consisting of a pre-event NFT auction and fan activation for the Qatar World Cup. The auction involved NFTs of legendary World Cup goals from five former footballers, including Michael Owen, Tim Cahill, Maxi Rodriguez, Jared Borgetti, and Carli Lloyd. The NFTs were available exculsively on Crypto.com. The auction ended on 8th November with proceeds heading to Street Child United, a charity organization in the UK.
Additionally, Visa will facilitate an interactive pitch through the FIFA Fan Festival during the World Cup where fans can create their own NFTs inspired by their on-pitch movements. The inspired NFTs will be in the fans’ preferred national team colors. The interactive pitch sessions will be four minutes long with 6-on-6 matches.
Crypto Trends Ahead of the Qatar World Cup
Chainalysis’ report on crypto adoption indicates that the Middle East has the highest rate of crypto adoption growth. This is down to Qatar’s neighboring country, UAE, which is strategizing to be a crypto hub beyond the region.
A surge in crypto tokens related to soccer continues to hold with the World Cup approaching. Socio.com’s Chiliz (CHZ) has several partnerships with major football teams, including Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain, Arsenal, and Atletico Madrid. With less than a month to go to the world cup, CHZ’s price soared by almost 43%.
It also presents opportunities for national teams to have their own token ahead of the tournament. The (arguably) greatest soccer players of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, may be playing their last World Cup at this year’s tournament for Portugal and Argentina respectively. Fan tokens of these national teams have also increased by almost 50% in the past two weeks. Fans anticipate that the two legends of football will provide memorable moments that will be put in as NFTs.
A World Cup Integrating with Crypto Technology
Several firms utilize sporting events to market their brands and services to the mainstream. The World Cup provides an ideal venue to advocate for the crypto industry. Algorand is also the official blockchain partner of FIFA as unveiled in May. The World Cup is the first major global event since the partnership, and the green blockchain technology company offers a blockchain-supported wallet. Crypto Lists wishes all football enthusiasts a memorable World Cup with crypto playing a major role.
